A Corporate Recruiter is a Human Resources professional responsible for the hiring of individuals within a company. Not to be confused with a Third-Party Recruiter who works for an employment agency, staffing agency, or recruitment agency, and is recruiting individuals for multiple organizations. A Corporate Recruiter is a member of the organization for which he is hiring.
OK, that’s a pretty text book level definition. I’ve been a Corporate Recruiter, and I’ve also been a 3rd party Recruiter, on-site in the role of a Corporate Recruiter (one of my favorite things to do). In this capacity, I had all the advantages of being part of the organization – meeting face to face with hiring managers, participating in SCRUM stand-ups, etc. But, the other advantage was that I was allowed to go beyond the capabilities of the Corporate Recruiter – in sourcing, advertising, etc.
